imm cologne 2018 preview: These are the highlights of this year's international interiors show

From basic interiors to top-of-the-range furniture, from distinguished brands to industry newcomers, from design studies to market-ready ranges: The imm cologne is a unique platform for the latest trends and products from the world of interior design. More than 1,200 exhibitors from around 50 countries have announced their participation from January 15th till 21st 2018. Discover a myriad of new products, inspiring installations, and ideas for interior design for any room, style or taste. The show will be open to the public from January 19th to 21st, offering the opportunity to talk with the manufacturers face-to-face and learn all there is to know about the latest furniture ranges.

Pure: The platform for premium design

In total, the imm cologne now exhibits eleven segments. Traditionally, the Pure Hall represents the stage for style-defining design brands. Besides pioneering innovation, here is where you'll get to see remarkable installations that perfectly capture the current zeitgeist. In the Pure segment, the exhibitors' creativity knows no boundaries: You can experience experimental lifestyle concepts, holistically integrated interior designs, and smart building technology. The Pure Talents Contest is also well worth a look: Here, a new international generation of designers present their prototypes.

This is what the imm cologne 2018 will have in store for you

New trade show format: Pure Architects for smart interiors

The Pure Architects format has been newly added this year. The imm cologne will use this bi-annual format as a platform for presenting innovative interior design studies. Its focus will be on bathrooms and Smart Home building automation. This year, Gira will be presenting its smart solutions and innovative home automation products in hall 4.2, stand E059. The show format also covers architectural and technological aspects of state-of-the-art lighting systems and will offer an interactive Smart Home installation. The imm cologne 2018 affords lighting design a key role overall: Just around the corner in the next hall, the special exhibition Featured Editions will illuminate how differently shaped decorative lamps can be used to accentuate styles in interior design.


The Stage: Visions and expertise at the imm cologne's trend forum

This year, the respected trend forum The Stage looks at all aspects of light and at how best to use colours and materials. Experts will provide insights into how modern work and home environments are designed, industry insiders talk about the future development of interior design culture, and designers unveil their visionary studies.

The international interiors show: Ideas, inspiration, information

The section The Home – Interiors on Stage will set the course for contemporary interior design. 2018's featured guest is Czech designer Lucie Koldova. She has been invited to design this residential home installation and add her very own touch to it. The Stage will be especially cosmopolitan at the upcoming interiors show: Designers from Spain, Sweden, Norway, the United Kingdom and the USA have announced their participation.
